Create Your Own BuMP Sangha!
The Buddhist Mobilization Project is designed to be an easily repeatable structure so you can create your own group.

  1. This is generally most effective if you are already part of a Buddhist community and can reach out to your fellow Sangha members with a proposal to create your own BuMP Sangha group. If you're not part of a Sangha, you might want to join one! There's a template email you might want to send to your fellow Buddhists.
  2. Propose a one-hour intial meeting to explore the idea of creating a group - short and sweet, no commitment required.
  3. After the initial meeting, invite people to commit to taking part for 6 months (they can renew a commitment, of course).
  4. Take some kind of poll to find a monthly meeting time that works for everyone. It will probably need to be online, but you're welcome to try in person instead. If you have lots of people, you may be able to split into two cohorts, each with a different meeting time/day.
  5. Copy the hour tracking spreadsheet, enter the names of your BuMP Sangha participants (one on each tab), and add their gmail addresses to the Edit access on the sheet (people will need gmail addresses - they can create one just for this purpose if they don't use gmail).
  6. Identify someone to be the BuMP Sangha's admin coordinator. This person is not the leader, just the person who takes on the lightweight admin support - creating an email list for the group, sending meeting reminders a few days ahead of time, etc.
  7. Identify someone to serve as facilitator for the next meeting. People should rotate through this position, and instructions are found here.
  8. Enjoy!
